The Anchor Inn on the Sussex Ouse
The Anchor Inn is a beautiful Sussex country pub and restaurant set in one of the loveliest and most unspoilt parts of rural Sussex on the west bank of the River Ouse, four miles upstream from the county town of Lewes.
Built in 1790, the Inn has a long history, and today offers two cosy bars and two restaurant rooms, serving real ales, bottled lagers, fine wines and freshly prepared bar food from an 'a la carte' menu. Comfortable accommodation, including bed and breakfast, is available and boats can be hired to explore the surrounding countryside. There are also rooms and a marque available for any type of wedding, event or function.
The Anchor Inn is licensed to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies. These and private receptions are catered for either within the inn or in a riverside marquee. For additional information please ring or email us. Our wedding brochure can be downloaded as a pdf from the weddings page.
Did you know that fishing breaks are also an Anchor Inn speciality?
